The First Post - Brayden & Emmett Hill

It's the new year and like most years, it prompts me to think about how I might do things a bit better this year than I did last year. One of the things that I have not been so good about is truly documenting my kids life. I was inspired when a client of mine showed me the blog she keeps for her daughter and also a bit ashamed that I hadn't done it sooner for my own kids. My kids have the shoemakers kids syndrome, you know that old saying about how the shoemakers kids are always barefoot? Well the photographers kids are not as photographed as they should be! Well this is the year that I start and maintain a blog/journal of my amazing two little boys.

Meet Brayden:

Brayden is almost three, his birthday is on Jan.30th. He is energetic, strong willed, funny, loving, sweet and super duper smart. I took this photo this morning as daddy was getting him loaded up in the car to go to preschool. Brayden is such a special kid, he is the kind of kid that you fall in love with instantly when you meet him. All our friends and the teachers at his preschool just adore him. We of course adore him as well. Right now Brayden's favorite things are:
Green frog boots
Monster trucks
Tractors
Mandarin oranges
Chicken nuggets
Momma's stories before bed
Bruno & The Banana Bunch
Baby brother Emmett

they go with everything :)

Brayden told us he wanted a cowboy hat so dad bought this for him the last time we were in Makawao, he loves it.

Meet Emmett:

Emmett is two months old. He is an amazingly happy baby! After we had Brayden I thought it was impossible to have another kid as cute as he was, but look at this kid, can he get any cuter! The only time Emmett cries is when he is hungry or has just been given a shot by the doctor (ouch!). He is at that cute stage where he coos to us as if we were having a conversation. He is such a big boy, already 14lbs, he was 8.15 lbs when he was born. This kid loves to eat!

He loves:
Momma's Milk
Pacifiers
Clean diapers
Snugly jammies
Riding around in the Ergo carrier
His daddy making funny faces at him
His vibrating bouncer

What he is doing right now as I type this.

Ok boys, so this is for you, I hope that one day you can look back at this journal and know how much your mommy and daddy love you and how much we appreciate you.  You are both a bright light in our lives and we have so much fun everyday with you.  Yes you drive us crazy sometimes, I think that is kind of your job. No matter what we will ALWAYS love you.
